During our recent visit to Phuket, we had a Sunset Dinner and Cruise arranged by our tour operator Easy Day Thailand. This post is about our experience on that

On the first day evening of our trip, we opted for the Sunset Dinner and Cruise. This consists of a journey to Coral Island in MV Sai Mai Cruise boat, followed by Dinner in the boat itself. We were told that maximum there will be 10 guests. But to our surprise, it was just my family only, which was a welcome thing, as we basically had the entire boat for our use only

To start with, were reached the ferry terminal by around 3.30 pm and were directed to the boat by our guide and captain. There we had a warm welcome and we proceeded to the top deck, where our guide Bee briefed us through the things that we will be doing in the trip.

We proceeded to Coral Island to have some beach activity. We had some fruits and snacks on the way. The view from the MV Sai Mai boat was really awesome.  We saw many islands on the way. The weather was good and there were bean bags on the balcony of MV Sai Mai, where we rested and enjoyed the sea.

Kids had a nice time and they got a new friend Ki, the captain’s grandson and all played inside the boat happily. It was low tide and so we had to move to the Coral island in a small speed boat, which was a good experience

By the time we reached the island, most of the people have already started to go back. So there was not much rush in the island and we could enjoy the beach on our own. The water at Coral Island was clear and there are no rough waves and all. It was a peaceful place and we all had a nice time. We could see some fish’s up-close also

By around 6, we started the journey back to the boat. Here the captain allowed my kids to ride the boat, which they really enjoyed. On reaching the boat, we washed ourselves and got ready for the dinner

The table was all set with food, by the time we reached the upper deck of MV Sai Mai. There was good variety. It was really delicious food and I really enjoyed. It was probably the best Dinner that we had in the entire tour. There was more than enough food and beer on board. The sunset had started and it was a nice feeling to have dinner in such a romantic background.

As we were having dinner, we started our way back to the Ferry terminal. We finished the dinner and started to enjoy the full sunset. Believe me, it is an experience, which words cannot express. Kids were playing around, while we quietly enjoyed the beautiful sunset in Phuket

By around 8, we reached back to the terminal. We thanked the captain, his wife and little Ki and started our journey back to the hotel

It was a nice experience and I suggest it as a must have programme in the itinerary for anyone visiting Phuket. You will not regret. The food and the sunset; it’s simply marvellous. Thank you all at Easy Day Thailand for the wonderful experience in MV Sai Mai
